Members dig deep to support Legacy's work

CFMEU shop stewards have responded brilliantly to a request to help the families of deceased veterans.

Throughout August union reps sold Legacy badges, pens and other items on their sites, raising $40,000.

A cheque was presented to Legacy at Brookfield Multiplex's site in Docklands on September 20. On the day workers voted to continue fundraising for Legacy for the duration of the job and the builder made a donation of $5,000.

Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of deceased veterans’ families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:

  • the protection of individuals and families’ basic needs;
  • advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
  • assisting families through bereavement; and
  • helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.
